Installing Cake PHP in WAMP

Dear Followers

Installing Cake PHP is as easy as you do Copy and Paste operation. Don't misunderstand!!

Follow these easy steps to install fresh Cake PHP in Wamp Server:

1. Download updated Cake PHP from CakePHP official website and unzip the file.
2. Copy the folder to Wamp server folder : C:\www\wamp\(cakefolder)
3. Here everything you will have to do in app folder. Don't alter any other folder content, if you don't have much knowledge.
4. Go to (cakefolder) -> app -> Config -> database.php.defult and rename it as database.php
5. Open (cakefoler) -> app -> Config -> core.php and change the Security.salt value and Security.cipherSeed.
6. Make sure the (cakefolder) -> tmp is writable and apache mod_rewrite is enabled.
7. Set the database.php configuration with the database details.
8. Open the browser and type : http://localhost/(cakefolder)/ and that's up.

    C:\wamp\www\cakephp-cakephp-2.3.1-0-g48149cb if i copy the unzipped file, structure can be this type...please confirme

    Which value should i give for Security.salt and Security.cipherSeed?

      Change Security.salt to any alphanumeric + symbol value other than default value. As long as it is difficult to predict.
      Put any numeric value to Security.cipherSeed.

    i got this error. URL rewriting is not properly configured on your server.

      Got it. put new line in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc host file.
      127.0.0.1 cakephp
      and add
      (<)VirtualHost *:80(>)
      DocumentRoot C:/server/htdocs/cakephp/app/webroot
      ServerName cakephp:80
      (<)VirtualHost(>)
      without "()" and put "/" before virtualhost
      in C:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.22\conf\extra at the bottom of httpd-vhosts.conf file.

    how to configure cakephp. i have search on google but they are saying that go to app folder. but thare is no any app folder in within cake folder

    hello sir when i install the cake php in my local server but create some problem because when i am do unzip cakephp file then go to the config folder and here does not look a database.php file where i want do some changes.. so please guide me how i can do that install cakephp in local server .......//// Open cakefolder -> app -> Config ->after that not seen database.php file
